Whirlpool Canada Head Office in Mississauga wowed their staff with a Winter Wonderland themed holiday event. The theme was kept secret until the invitations went out and the afternoon of the event, the cafeteria and showroom doors were closed at 1:30 while the room was transformed into a winter wonderland. At 4:30 the guests came down the central staircase into an ice blue room with white and silver accents.
LED monitors around the rooms displayed roaring fireplaces to keep everyone in a warm and toasty frame of mind. A serpentine shaped central “grazing station” served up this menu:
Chilled shrimp shooters with classic cocktail sauce
Vegetable shooters with spinach and roasted red pepper dip
Mini Chinese boxes with Cookstown greens, burgundy poached pears, Chevre cheese and candied pecans with champagne vinaigrette
“Bamboo” chicken with raspberry/chili sauce
Parmesan/herb pastry wrapped spicy sausage with Dijon/honey dip
Garlic crostini, herb pita triangles and Tortilla crisps with
Wild mushroom Bruschetta
Warm Asiago and artichoke dip
Tomato and coriander salsa piquant
Warm brie en croute garnished with caramelized pears, cranberries and pecans
Served with Garlic and Herb Crostini and Fresh Baguette Wedges
Gourmet cheese board with figs, exotic fruits and tri flavoured crackers
Guests enjoyed our chef’s tasting plates with choices of:
Sage and caramelized onion stuffed turkey scaloppini roll with garlic and scallion tossed mash topped with cranberry infused turkey gravy
Indian Style butter chicken over basmati rice with mango pepper chutney and naan crisp
Hoisin chili marinated flank steak over garlic and scallion tossed mash with crispy leeks
Roasted beet grilled vegetable and goat cheese wellington with tomato glaze over garlic and scallion tossed mash
Throughout the evening cater waiters passed a selection of the following hors d’oeuvres:
Chipotle chicken slider with caramelized shallot aioli and micro greens
Warm butternut squash soup shooter with garlic foam
5 year aged Balderson cheese and fig chutney mini grilled cheese
Asparagus spears with Asiago wrapped in crispy phyllo with hollandaise dip
Mini lobster pot pies with Panko crust
Smoked salmon peonies – lemon dill cream cheese wrapped with Atlantic salmon
A gorgeous icy blue dessert station featured mini holiday cupcakes: Baileys, Red Velvet, Gingerbread and Candy Cane along with a selection of French macarons.
